This photograph was shot by BILL BENGE in 1973. It’s along State Highway 128 (the river road), upriver from Moab. In this shot, the Fisher Towers are just out of view to the right. I posted this image earlier today on facebook and we got this comment from CRICKET WHITE GREEN: “WOW flash back! I am pretty sure that the brown and white pony was ours and his name was Patches and that the rider 3rd from the left maybe me on my horse Ginger! not sure I would have been 13 when this was taken!”
Note that 128 was still a dirt road then; it wasn’t completely paved until the late 80s.
