This is the second batch of documents from The Zephyr’s 2018 FOIA request to the Bureau of Land Management. The request for documents related to the May 10, 2014 “Recapture Canyon “Protest” that led eventually to the indictment and conviction of San Juan County commissioner Phil Lyman, and county resident Monte Wells.
This selection of BLM emails covers the two weeks following the event, as BLM law enforcement considered possible charges against the alleged violators and sought to determine how much archaeological and environmental damage they believed the protest had caused.
