HERB RINGER had an incredible Walter Mitty streak in him, evidenced by these photos. While he apparently couldn't get a part in the Yvonne De Carlo movie, that he didn't deter him from playing the Cinema Cowboy anyway. With his father as "cameraman," Herb acted out these scenes at an abandoned mining town in Nevada more than a half a century ago. That was one of Herb's secrets-- never grow up. Herb has a "shoot out" with himself in this remarkable double-exposure.
Herb was traveling in the High Sierras in the summer of 1946 when he came upon a movie production. He learned that it was a film called "Slave Girl," starring Yvonne De Carlo and Andy Devine. |
