From almost the day he left his home in Ringoes New Jersey and head for Nevada Herb Ringer began to document his adventures, "pursing the Western Life,"as he liked to call it.

By December 1941, he had settled in Reno, found work at a grocery store and began to explore the great empty desert that would be the love of his life.
